The game being on a console like the Wii (which we have already established isn’t half as angelic as Nintendo would have you believe), complicated matters more, and Nintendo got itself a bit of a bad rep for allowing the game to appear on the system. In what was arguably the most publicized incident involving censorship in recent times, Manhunt 2 faced the real and imminent possibility of a worldwide ban, because of its violent, protracted and often sadistic executions that the gameplay of the title was centered around. I mean, all we needed was the zombies replaced by gummy bag people, and we’d have had an adorable game on our hands that could have passed off as LittleBigPlanet.

No dismembered limbs, zombies couldn’t catch fire, they’d just disappear in a puff after dying like enemies in Nintendo games. This new version was nothing short of retarded. Instead, in a shameful act of succumbing to our shadowy governmental overlords, they decided to release a bastardized version of the game for the Australian audiences. Most of this content can be restored using mods. But they didn’t. However, in the beta, the player was able to perform Hasty and Violent executions with firearms, most notably the Shotgun, the Sub-Machine Gun and the Flare Gun. The PS2/PSP versions have their own unique executions for these weapons. The PC/Wii versions offers only two kinds of executions, one for Blue Class Firearms and the other one for Red Class Firearms.
MANHUNT 2 PS3 UNCUT PC
However, there's a big difference between the PC and Wii version and the PS2/PSP/ versions. In Manhunt 2 the player can perform executions while pointing a firearm onto the hunters back (including the Crossbow, which isn't a firearm itself). Jumping executions can only be performed while holding a melee weapon. All these executions are Gruesome.Īnother new feature in Manhunt 2 is the ability to perform a kill by jumping onto a hunter from a higher level (ex. Potential execution points are marked around the map by a small white skull. Also, you cannot execute or in any way harm, friendly characters who follow Cash.Ī new feature to Manhunt 2 is the ability to perform Environmental Executions. There is no actual execution for Starkweather, but the ending cutscene still will play once he receives enough damage. However, in Manhunt this system does not involve several characters: for example, you cannot execute Ramirez (he punches Cash and attacks him when player tries to execute), and there are special execution move on Piggsy - when you try to execute either Ramirez or Piggsy, the reticles are always red (as if it was gruesome execution level) and you don't need to wait. Note that on the Wii version of Manhunt 2, all execution cutscenes are censored, to fit regulations by Nintendo. In Manhunt, the more extreme the execution the higher it ranks on your execution points at the end of the scene. The severity of the execution is dependent on how long you hold the execute button down. Gruesome executions are the most severe of all three execution levels and can be achieved by holding the execution button down for three seconds before releasing.
